DART’s On Point Community Forum. Roles and Responsibilities of Trustees: Library Edition. Presented in collaboration with Community Library Network Alliance

On May 16th, local Kootenai and Shoshone voters will elect two trustees to the Community Library Network board. This panel is designed to help voters make informed decisions in their choices. Your vote will influence the course of our community and future of our libraries!

How will recent legislative efforts affect our libraries? What are the roles of library trustees? What is the role of libraries in our community? What are the do’s and don’ts of trustee conduct? Does the stability of the board affect grants and insurance? What are some library myths and misconceptions? These questions and more will be addressed during the discussion.

Who: The panel will be moderated by DART’s Nancy Jones. The four panelists include: Nick Grove, Director, Meridian Library District; Katie Blank, Chair, Community Library Network; Jim McNall, former Bonner County Commissioner and former risk management and claims specialist for Idaho Counties Risk Management Program (ICRMP); Bob Fish, former Community Library Network trustee.

The League of Women Voters - Kootenai County will be in attendance, offering voter registration and services. No live audience questions will be taken during the panel. If you have a question you’d like us to consider, please email clnaidaho@gmail.com by April 10th.
